Erin Hosilyk

VP, Growth and Partnerships

Erin once worked for a florist, who paid her in flowers. As a consultant, she always helps clients see beautiful new possibilities.

Erin Hosilyk believes that open communication should be one of every company’s core values.

“If you’re not explicit about how you expect employees to communicate at your company, then it’s up to interpretation and assumption,” Erin said. “That’s what leads to breakdowns.” And after spending nearly 20 years managing employee communication for startups, nonprofits and global corporations, she speaks from experience: the better an organization communicates, the better it tends to perform.

Erin joined the ROI Communication team in 2017 from her own consultancy, Pillarpoint Communications, where she helped companies develop and execute internal communication strategy, coached C-suite executives, and advised startups seeking to cultivate healthy employee communication through periods of rapid growth.

Previously, Erin was Director of Communications, Executive and Strategic Projects at LinkedIn, which more than quadrupled in size during her four-year tenure at the company. Before that, she was LinkedIn’s Director of Internal Communications, where she built that function from the ground up. Earlier in her career, Erin served in leadership communication roles at Visa, Charles Schwab, and Barclays Global Investors.

“I know the pain points of the internal communications function personally,” Erin said, from staffing and budget constraints to communicating during times of uncertainty. “I also know the high that comes from directly improving employee engagement and company performance, and I want all of my clients to feel that same satisfaction.”

Erin, who earned a BA and MA in Speech Communication from California State University Long Beach, also invests significant energy in mentoring young women. “I call them emerging leaders, because they’re all on a path to leadership, either in their personal or professional lives,” she said. A two-time Gold Quill Award winner, Erin also serves on the Board for the San Francisco Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.

When she’s not advising ROI clients or doing volunteer work, Erin enjoys playing bocce with her husband and friends, cheering on her daughter’s volleyball team, playing with her son, experimenting with digital photography, and exploring the coast near her home in Half Moon Bay, California.
