About Christine
Santa Cruz County, California

Christine Style launched her career as a documentary photographer for a public utility, working to capture the stories and perspectives of linemen, power plant technicians and customer service reps. Building on the emotive power of these photos, she soon began augmenting them with videos, written narratives and graphic design – a rich, visual approach that ended up shaping decades of work in corporate communication.

“I help clients make a connection and get their point across, ideally with some creativity and flair,” Chris said. “I come at it as an advocate for the audience; if you’re not thinking about your message from their perspective, you’re not going to be as successful.”

Chris joined ROI in 2017 from her own consultancy, Communication with Style. Earlier in her career, Chris served as an Internal Communications and Change Manager at eBay, as a Senior Manager for Employee Communications and Engagement at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and as an Internal and Marketing Communications Manager for Cisco, where she worked to accelerate innovation, help integrate employees from acquired companies, and develop the company’s ethics training program.

Prior to her tenure at Cisco, Chris was a communications consultant for The Network – a governance, compliance and risk management company – and earlier launched the video services department for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, one of that city’s leading hospitals. Chris began her career at the Tampa Electric Company, where she worked while pursuing her BA in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida.

When she’s not advising clients, Chris enjoys salsa dancing, playing tennis and volunteering. She has served as a Big Sister and Girl Scout troop leader, and spent years fundraising and doing pro bono marketing for Camp Horizon – a summer camp that helps foster children. Other volunteer work includes teaching communication skills to low-income children through Citizen Schools, and supporting the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department in its elementary-school safety programs.
