As a writer, Haley Hirai knows that powerful stories are often the best way to connect people to a greater mission, goal or shared sense of purpose – and it’s her pursuit of such stories that gives her own work meaning.
“I love asking questions, and helping people articulate stories that don’t just inform, but inspire,” Haley said.
Haley joined the ROI Communication team in 2018 from DPR Construction – a global, $6 billion construction company – where she led corporate brand journalism and content development, managing multimedia editorial campaigns across intranet, blog and social media platforms.
Prior to joining DPR, Haley spent three years honing her strategy and messaging skills as a corporate communications consultant for Fortune 500 tech companies. At North of Nine Communications, she helped launch Intel’s $300 million Diversity in Technology Initiative, and developed strategic messaging for workplace announcements spanning benefits, wellness and other HR initiatives.
Earlier, at Weber Shandwick, Haley managed, wrote and copyedited Motorola’s employee newsletter and content portal during its acquisition by Lenovo, a period of major transition for the company. She also created executive communication and strategic engagement plans for a range of other major corporations.
Haley earned a BA in journalism and public relations from the University of Oregon, where she also managed communications and operations for the baseball team and wrote features for the Pac-12 Conference. When she’s not advising clients, Haley enjoys writing, reading about strong and complex women with her book club, taking barre classes, cheering on the San Francisco Giants and chasing Koko, her shiba inu.
