About Jenna
Santa Clara County, California

Jenna Kuhl’s first job out of school started at 4 in the morning and ran full throttle for a dozen hours each day. Working for a commodity trader was a rough-and-tumble environment of big dollars, bigger egos and a regular stream of verbal abuse. Given all that, the biggest lesson she learned was surprising: being nice is actually a competitive advantage.

“I enjoy building relationships, and that starts with being nice,” Jenna said. “I like to listen. I like to collaborate in a way that suits the people I’m working with. What’s their style? How do they like to communicate? One of my strengths is that I’m good at adapting.”

Jenna’s collegial demeanor is only exceeded by her exceptional talents as a storyteller and project manager. Working for the past 15 years in corporate communication, internal communication, customer advocacy, and public relations, Jenna has helped a range of global companies pursue their goals with clarity and humanity.

Jenna began her communications career at The Weber Group, a Silicon Valley public relations firm, before moving on to increasingly senior marketing and communication roles at Netline Corporation, TIBCO Software, NDS Surgical Imaging, Proofpoint and Hitachi Data Systems. That range of experience – including B2B marketing, software, healthcare technology, cybersecurity, and the full portfolio of a global conglomerate – reinforced her belief that no matter what product or service a company may be selling, people are hungry for compelling stories that offer a sense of greater purpose.

“I’m a writer, and I like telling stories. Whether that’s scripting a beautiful video, drafting a compelling narrative or just creating a good infographic, it’s important to find ways to engage people. And for people who are already overloaded with information, any story has to fit within a bigger, organized plan,” she said. Fortunately, she enjoys those aspects of her work as well. “I really like project management, and keeping projects on time and on budget.”

Jenna, who joined the ROI Communication team in 2020, is a native Californian who earned a BS in Public Relations from San Jose State University. When she’s not advising clients, she enjoys reading – primarily biographies and autobiographies – as well as creative writing. In recent years, she has become an avid cook, and also enjoys attending sporting events with her husband and two teenage daughters, both of whom are athletes. She lives in San Jose.
