Lisa Marks

Lisa Marks believes in living a life you don’t need a vacation from – one rich with family and friends, meaningful work, and service to community. It’s her pursuit of this ideal that led her to work at Living ROI, an organization that helps people realize the life they desire.

“A lot of people spend energy planning meetings and schedules but fail to plan and pursue actions that would give them a deeper, richer life,” Lisa said. “I believe in doing the work to get the life you want.”

Lisa joined the Living ROI team in 2018, bringing decades of experience from a wide range of roles at Amdahl Corporation, National Semiconductor, Quantum Corporation, the Naval Postgraduate School, The City University of New York’s John Jay College & Graduate Center, JDM Foods and Leal Vineyards and Winery.

Throughout her career, she raised three children and continues to volunteer with community organizations. As a volunteer, some of her most rewarding work has been tutoring students in a wide range of subjects, figuring out strategies to explain things in ways that stick. In turn, her students reward her by demonstrating new skills and confidence, both inside and outside the classroom.

Of all Lisa’s accomplishments, however, she is most proud of her adult children. “The greatest thing I’ve ever done is, along with my husband, raise my children well – they’re all happy and enjoy what they do.”

A graduate of California State University at Monterey Bay with a BA in Human Communication, Lisa feels a deep connection to the Central Coast of California, especially Big Sur. She and her husband own an RV and love exploring new parks and enjoying the beauty of nature.
