About Melissa
Sussex County, New Jersey
Melissa Logan once grew so frustrated with an artless rendering of Virgil’s Aeneid that she re-translated the original Latin poem herself. Later, working for an education company, she set up a template system that accelerated the editing of textbooks while improving accuracy, too. It’s this focus on the integrity of process – and her talent for recognizing which small improvements can make the biggest impact – that enable Melissa to drive change effectively.
“I love to find efficiencies and optimize systems so that people are empowered to do their best work,” Melissa said. “It’s just so fun to discover better ways to reach a given goal.”
Melissa joined the ROI Communication team in 2018 from Davis & Company, an employee communication consultancy. Previously, she worked as a production manager and senior production artist for Kaplan K12 Learning Services, and helped produce and manage critical documents at the U.S. Naval War College.
In these roles, she managed teams that implemented new systems to manage change, engage employees, improve performance, enhance outcomes, increase profits, strengthen stakeholder relations and facilitate the successful rollout of new technology platforms.
“I love bringing order to chaos,” Melissa said. “You need to make people want to do what they should, and that starts with making it easier to do the job right, and helping them get more comfortable taking informed and mitigated risks.”
Melissa graduated with honors from Kaplan University, received a Certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute, and is pursuing additional studies at the University of Massachusetts. When she’s not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, volunteers with her local youth soccer league, and reads about 300 books per year.
